Seabury’s journey of discernment has resulted in a vision of being an educational community, grounded in the Baptismal Covenant, that proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the church and the world.
Our theological education includes single classes, diplomas and doctoral degrees. We offer events, programs and classes for intellectually serious church leaders, seminarians, and pilgrims and seekers. Our courses are offered in intensive sessions with online components. Our DMin in Preaching degree is in partnership with the Association of Chicago Theological Schools, and our DMin in Congregational Development program is in partnership with the Church Divinity School of the Pacific. Seabury also offers full benefits of the United Library at Garrett Theological School in Evanston to all students.
Our mission is to embody generous Christianity as we educate lay and ordained women and men for ministry, build faith communities, and enrich people in their faith. As we strive to serve the church of the 21st century, our education remains academically rigorous and rooted in the Episcopal tradition. Seabury is entering into a federation with Bexley Hall in Columbus, Ohio, beginning in 2013, to become one seminary with two campuses.
