Northern Seminary was founded in 1913 with the purpose of training leaders for the Church. Almost 100 years later, we are still focused on that goal. Northern’s vision is to prepare leaders who will faithfully serve Jesus Christ with evangelical passion and mission skills in Biblically grounded and culturally relevant ministries.

Northern Baptist Theological Seminary affirms its evangelical heritage through its commitments to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the authority of scripture. The seminary offers an educational context that is international, interracial and intercultural for the preparation of men and women who are called by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit for the mission of Christ in the world and ministries of the church. The strategic role of the seminary is to educate leaders who will be personally whole and spiritually mature, Biblically grounded and theologically competent, pastoral, evangelistic and prophetic.

One Review

  1. Northern Serminary has small classes with diverse student body. Both the faculty and students are loving and supportive and practical about ministry. I highly recommend Northern Seminary for students in Chicagoland area who are looking for a honest and biblical institution with a family setting that allows one to be transparent as one transforms into the image of Christ.
